CP Soccer NYC SUMMER DAY CAMP 2024

CP Soccer x Columbia University x Mass General Brigham

Game ON Community guided adaptive sports & motor learning camp 2024

July 22 - 26, 2024, 10:00 - 15:00 Soccer Post Queens (previously Upper 90 Queens)

This camp is free of charge for all eligible players

Since 2019, CP Soccer NYC has collaborated with Columbia University to host the Game On community based day camps during the summer. In 2023, we introduced CP Soccer New England and Mass General Brigham as collaborators in the next phase of the project. Five families from New England joined our camp in Queens, NYC for a week of fun and bonding.

The camp is open to players aged 8-15 affected by cerebral palsy, stroke or traumatic brain injury. We will cover activities to evaluate the physical and emotional benefits of engaging in targeted physical activity such as a team sport for youths with CP. Players complete a pre- and post-camp assessment to obtain a baseline, and wear heart monitors during camp to measure their efficiency.

We will be playing mostly indoors with one hour of outdoor play each day on the rooftop.

Our participants will go through a week of training including fitness, static and dynamic balance and coordination training, soccer skills and drills, chair yoga, quizzes, social interaction and sharing and many more!

This is a drop-off camp. Parents are welcome to stay and observe camp activities.
